Our Local Region
Constable Country on the Essex/Suffolk border is less than an hour by train from Central London, but offers a total escape to a slower, peaceful, more old fashioned world. On our doorstep is the Dedham Vale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, a traditional lowland rural farming area, made famous by painters John Constable and Thomas Gainsborough.
Just east of us is the Suffolk Coast and Heaths AONB. With its unique mixture of delightful coastal, heathland and forest landscapes, it is one of the most important wildlife areas in Britain. To the north lies the heart of the medieval Wool Towns area, featuring some fantastically well preserved medieval villages and small towns whose wealth derived from the wool trade in the middle ages.
Last but not least we are blessed with beautiful water, water everywhere - whether sea, estuaries or rivers - whilst enjoying the driest climate in the UK.
